Inihaw na mais

The season is almost over. This is the last batch of corn harvests that our grocer is selling. My husband "slow grilled" these with the husks on to keep the corn from drying. You could tell if it is done once the husks turn black and the grains turn brownish. These go well with margarine and salt. The grains are really juicy. Reminds me of my mom who used to plant this in our backyard when I was young. My father and mother would harvest a bucketful every three days, steam them and we would eat everything under the guyabano tree by our house.

Wow, sarap naman. Reminds me a lot of snacking back in Pinas. We buy these from sidewalk vendors or at the sari-sari store by the corner. Iniihaw sa uling, may pay-pay pa ng abaniko.
Miss ting-aling can I link you please? I'm interested in getting tips on eating healthily coz I just got results that my blood sugar is getting high. You know my blog you've been there: http://desarapen.blogspot.com

Yummy! We too have been enjoying the summer's corn harvest. They have been so good this year. This looks delicious, I can almost smell it!

Welcome Celia Kusinera & JDMom. Salamat ulit sa pagbisita. Of course you can link me. I will do the linking sometime this weekend. Link ko din kayo ha.

We surely had a good weather this summer kaya medyo maganda ang harvest. Steamed corn is also a good alternative.

Balik kayo.

Yummy!I am (anxiously!) still waiting for our corn to be ready. Not quite hinog at the moment. Will have it steamed, though, and served with butter and salt. Nothing beats freshly-picked corn no?

Hi Manang. We buy ours so hindi namin alam kung kelan harvested yung mga yon. However, before I buy them, I taste the grains first for indication of sweetness. I do stems them most of the time pero last time, ewan ko kung anong naisip ng aking asawa, bigla na lang sinerve niya na naihaw na. My son loved it.
